Perth tennis fan Henry Michael has one of the
best collections of tennis memorabilia, books
and racquets (526 at last count!) in Australia.
These three examples from his collection (and
a modern Babolat racquet) show how racquets

Wooden racquet with original strings.
B 1990 Blackburne: This American racquet is
unusual in that it has two sets of strings. Valued
C 1980 Snauwaert: Graphic racquet with revo-
lutionary angled head, made in Belgium. The
theory was you wouldn't need to change grip
from forehand to backhand. Valued at $800.
D 2009 Babolat Pure Drive: A modern, ultra-
lightweight composite racquet. RRP $299.95.
