This concise little continental delicatessen sits alongside The George Street
Bistro and stocks chef-owner Soren Kobertstein's own-baked breads, patisse-
rie and food to go, cooked daily in the bistro's kitchen next door. Open sev-
en days a week, you'll find a small but careful selection of cold cuts, cheeses,
condiments, homewares, chocolates, health foods and fresh produce.

So shoot us, but we can't help get just a little bit excited at the range of
imported jams, biscuits, crispbreads and frozen cakes at Ikea's Swedish
food market. In particular, the frozen Daim almond and chocolate tart
makes a perfectly acceptable dinner party standby.

Heaven is this Italian-style delicatessen filled with good things. In the freezer
are sweet little four cheese ravioli, feta pastries and their own-made beef
pies. Other goodies include Mendolia marinated sardines, giant cacciatore
sausages, cured meats and a big range of exotics sourced from The Grocer.

Simon Johnson imports and distributes fine European and Australian
products throughout the country, often under his own label. The shop is a
treasure trove of less than budget-priced goodies, all exclusive to SJs.

Tucked down the back of the Steve's bottleshop and restaurant is a
gourmet produce outlet offering an array of the best local and imported
produce including cheeses, antipasto, biscuits, lavosh and fruit pastes.

For a supermarket, this place is pretty exciting. Aside from fresh fruit
platters, they squeeze their own orange and lemon juice in-store, sell a
beyond-decent range of cured meats and stock gourmet lines including
frozen berries, toasted cereal toppings (great for making sundaes) and

Many of the exotics you'll find in gourmet outlets around the State are
sourced from The Grocer, importers and distributors of such lovely prod-
ucts as hand-made pastas from Italy, sherry vinegar from Spain, pates and
terrines from France, as well as classy wines from around the world.

This classy wine and retail outlet stocks a vast range of wine-related ele-
ments including food, art, books, accessories and, of course, booze. Check
out their cold cabinet filled with great cheese, Barossa prosciutto, nice
dips and fresh bread.
