Fremantle Street Arts Festival
Carnies will be on the loose again at the 12th
annual Fremantle Street Arts Festival, weaving
their mysterious circus charms across the old port
city. Whip crackers, dancers, jugglers and musi-
cians will be among more than 100 top national
and international street artists, making this the
biggest free event of its kind in Australia.
Upmarket indeed. This is not the sort of goggle-eyes
on gumnuts craft that gives markets a bad name.
You can expect to find handmade clothing, acces-
sories, paper art, cupcakes and skin care among the
items for sale at this quarterly gathering, featuring
more than 100 local artists, designers, craftsmen and
