WHILE YOUR SKIN is plump and doesn t need
much in the way of anti-aging product, it is the
time for you to set yourself up with a great skin-
Francine Clingan, from organic skincare range
SOTO, recommends you find mild products that
don t strip the skin of natural oils, of which you
have plenty of in your 20s.
"A gentle daily cleanser is the first essential
step, but often young people choose foaming or
lathering cleansers in the belief it will clear the
skin of excess oil," says Francine. "Unfortunately
many of these cleansers include harsh ingredients
like sodium lauryl sulphate that cause the skin to
produce excess oil to compensate."
B*kind Organic Beauty Bar s Jodie Keogh says
it s more about what you should be avoiding in your
20s. "Go for the products with minimal, natural
ingredients when you re in your 20s," Jodie says.
"Especially avoid any products with alcohol, which
strips the skin of natural oils."
The downside of all those lovely natural oils is
the tendency for the occasional pimple, so pic
a blemish gel to banish them quickly.
Also invest in a good quality toner (sans alc
moisturiser (use morning and night after clean
and exfoliant to keep the skin looking lush.
KEY MESSAGE: Less is more, go for natural products
with minimal ingredients.

IT'S ALL IN the eyes when you hit your 30s. All
that smiling throughout your 20s was pretty gor-
geous, but now you need to invest in some specific
cream for those fine lines around your eyes.
According to Sodashi s Megan Larsen, the
delicate skin under your eyes "has fewer sebaceous
glands than the rest of your face so in your 30s
start using good quality eye products."
If you haven t met rosehip oil (big name in
the beauty world), then in your 30s you must
introduce yourself. The oil is a powerful combina-
tion of essential fatty acids (omega 3, 6 and 9) that
hydrates and softens the skin while improving its
elasticity. It s also useful for seeing off unsightly
stretch marks. We like. Use it twice daily after
cleansing the skin.
You also need to introduce a good serum
(intense restorative formulas) into your beauty
regime, according to Megan. "The skin needs extra
nourishment and hydration," she says, so look for
a serum with skin nourishers like Vitamin C, D or
E which are found in many natural oils.
KEY MESSAGE: Start looking after those peepers.

As the saying goes, life begins at 40 -- and so does
a new regime of skin care. When you hit your
40s it s not only the skin on your face that starts
to show your age, but also the skin on your body.
The trick is to exfoliate and moisturise. SOTO
founder, Francine Clingan says the first step to
smoother, softer skin is to work through the layer
of dead skin cells so the body lotion can work its
magic. "No matter how much body lotion you put
on the dead skin cells, they still remain dead. If we
want healthy smooth skin, we must slough them
off," she says. So start scrubbing ladies.
Now lets talk about the skin on your face.
Miessence co-founder, Narelle Chenery recom-
