One of the newest additions
to the PFF calendar is Fifteen
Minutes, a show paying tribute
to the rise of the fashion blog.
The show will feature styling from
WA’s leading fashion bloggers, as
well as the Perth runway debut of
New Zealand designer Roxanna
Zamani, who was named Fashion
TV’s 2010 Online Designer and is
making a name for herself among the industry’s global elite. These new-wave
stylists (or, if you’re a nerd, Stylists 2.0) are on the fashion forefront – digging
out trends everywhere from Perth’s streets to Paris catwalks, so who better to
ask the eternal question: what do I wear to the festival?
Marcia Ball | Style Voyeur
“To look ultra-chic at the shows at the festival, the best advice Style Voyeur can
give is to wear something you know no one else will have. Originality is key.
Style is about personal expression... always wear what you want and what feels
right on you. If you’re tired from the hectic fashion calendar, tie up your hair
and cover your head with teal-coloured tulle for a bit of nanna chic. If you’re in
the mood for fun, wear all of the necklaces you own at once and have a play
with different prints in your wardrobe for a miss-matched look. Try different
things: if you’re happy with the way you look no one will doubt you. Be bold.
Be whoever you want to be. Fashion is for you if you choose it to be. And if
you have no idea there’s always black.” stylevoyeur.com.
Karen Cheng | Karen Cheng’s Snippets of Life
“Fashion shows are always full of energy, buzz and, most of all, they celebrate
the theatre of fashion. So, it’s always so much fun to dress up for a fashion
show. People love to take the opportunity to go all out! When figuring out
what to wear, try to push your own personal style to the limit. Experiment with
something extravagant, splurge on that statement dress, try a bold new colour,
wear a standout accessory, brave a look-at-me hem line, put together a quirky
outfit, or just wear something you’ve never worn before. And don’t forget to
wear it with confidence, and wear it with a smile!” karencheng.com.au.
Vicky Sofield | The Fashion Catalyst
“Dress to impress and embrace WA labels, such as ae’lkemi, Martini+Coz,
Morrison, Timothy Godbold, Arj Selvam, The Butcher and The Crow, Aurelio
Costarella, Tarvydas, Wheels & Dollbaby – the wealth of WA designers is
endless. Natural accents are big at the moment, as is ‘military’. Also invest in
a few jackets! Clogs are climbing their way back in, too. Create your own twist
on these core trends and stay true to your own style.” thefashioncatalyst.com.
